Slam is a book written by Nick Hornby who was born in 1957 in maidenhead.
The book was published in 2007 and the book is a youth book because the book is about a 16-year-old boy and his girlfriend.

The theme of the book is love and arguing because they break up and come together all the time and there is much arguing between them and the parents and the child’s.
The genre of the book is romance.

In the beginning of the book we meet Sam who is 18 years old, but in the book he tells us from he was 16 until he was 18.
Sam is a boy who loves to skate and is interested in girls. And he speaks to his poster of TH (Tony Hawk), about all the problems he have and such stuff.
One day he meets Alicia at her moms party and Sam gets in love with Alicia and they become a couple, but after a while hey break up.
Then Sam begins to talk to TH about it and when he woke up the next morning he was whizzed into the future, and he thinks that TH did that to him.
But he came back to his own time, and then Alicia tells him that she is pregnant, Sam is shocked but he actually knew they where going to have a baby because he found that out when he was in the future.
When he finds out that they are going to have a baby he runs off to Hastings and gets a job and a place to live but after a while he travels home.
Then Sam and Alicia prepare themselves to have a baby, and they find out that they are going to live at Alicia’s place.
And after the baby is born the problems between Alicia and Sam begins and then they need to try and clean up in the relationship.

My opinion of the book is that is was a interesting book because its about a 16-year-old-boy and girl and we are 16 and maybe the book can help 16-year-old boys and girls who has the same problem as Sam and Alicia.
But after I have read 300 pages it started to get boring.
